YOUNG LAWYERS TO HOST ANNUAL AFTERNOON AT THE COURTHOUSE SEMINAR
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 5, 2007) – The Young Lawyers Section of
the Jacksonville Bar Association will sponsor its annual Afternoon at the
Courthouse Seminar on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. The
seminar is offered free of charge for both new and veteran lawyers, and will
familiarize attendees with courtroom protocol and etiquette, the Duval County
Courthouse, and local judiciary and courtroom personnel.
The program highlights include a mock hearing performed by local judges, a presentation on the history of the courthouse, as well as a guided tour, and the do’s and don’ts of local practice in Duval County. Additionally, United States District Judge Timothy J. Corrigan will deliver a professionalism presentation to the attendees. An application for 4.5 general CLE hours has been submitted to the Florida Bar for the seminar.
Participants in the seminar, as well as YLS members and local judges are invited to attend a reception to enjoy free drinks and hors d’ouevres after the seminar. The reception will be held at Plaza III from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
